Thanksgiving
I know it's "American thanksgiving" but I figure since I didn't put up a thanksgiving post I will do one today. There is a lot of things to be grateful for in my life. First of all, I am super grateful of how my family supports me financially, and I don't ever have to worry about next month's rent or how I'm going to afford to fly home next. Their financial support has really allowed me to do things I would never be able to do by myself. Second of all, I am thankful of my friends, having a group to just destress with and play some games or shoot off a snapchat to really helps pass the time away from home. Lastly, I am thankful for Christmas where I can finally take a break and not worry about school work for a bit. Here's to hoping that I can finish finals in one piece and come back home with some sort of resemblance of sanity!

End of season wrap up
It has been an awesome year fishing out here on the west coast. I have set a personal record of catching all 5 species of pacific salmon in various stages of their life cycle in the past several months. The next goal is hitting the so called pacific grand slam: that is, landing all 5 species in 1 day. I look forward to every odd year as it marks large returns of pink salmon and this year was no exception. I hooked up with a fair share of pinks as they moved back from the ocean into their spawning tributaries. These fish, pound-for-pound, fight just as hard as their larger cousins and is always fun on light tackle. Starting in July I was able to catch and keep several ocean fresh coho and moving into August and September I was able to hook into many pinks as well as the occasional chinook. Unfortunately this year marked a poor return of sockeye so all the tasty sockeye that were hooked had to be released. Following the awesome summer, in November I was able to hook into several hard fighting chum salmon and had a blast fishing for them. Now that the weather has turned cooler there is still some fishing to be had but for the most part it has slowed down. The days are starting to get shorter and shorter and life gets busier and busier as school and the holidays get closer. Fishing tends to be put on hold but that definitely doesn't stop me from day dreaming about hooking into a strong fighting fish while in class!
The home stretch is definitely coming and finals are just around the corner. I'm looking forward to being able to hit the ice season over the holidays and hopefully getting my ever elusive first walleye on the ice this season. Almost done the term guys, keep pushing and finish strong!
